Our Marine and Environmental Outreach began in late 2022 and has been overwhelmingly embraced by our partners. Our destinations include Deadman’s Island, Ft. McRae, Shoreline Park and other optimum sites to take part in hands-on scientific and fun activities. Youth are able to pull a Sein Net to see what species live in our waterways, snorkel or use underwater viewers for a front-row seat to the habitats and activities of marine species, and pulling a sediment sample to find out what aquatic species live in the sediment during the day and come out at night. Youth have additional lessons on what we can do to help sustain and improve the health of our waterways and their inhabitants.
