Satori sliced through small swells on Pensacola Bay, gliding past channel markers on its way to Pensacola Pass.

Since 2001, the 52-foot blue-water yacht had safely sailed its owners Tom and Carol Patterson across the Atlantic to Portugal and back, plowing through oceanic swells and storms as they traversed the open Atlantic and the Caribbean Islands.

But on this day, Satori isn’t headed for the deep blue offshore water. She sails a new, uncharted course—led by a new crew, with new passengers and a new vision. Satori now is a gift—a living, learning platform to teach children of Northwest Florida…
